5 simple things I learnt as a Business owner and Photographer at Founders Connect Lagos!
My team Ijeworks was at Founders Connect Lagos and I wrote out a few things I learnt from the entire process.
1. Build your team:
When we were contacted for this session, we already had a wedding to shoot that day. I definitely couldn’t do it alone, but I had trusted hands who could get the job done. Don’t work alone, you can’t do it all. Build more capacity.
2. Explore new things:
At Founders Connect we were to take 100 headshots, as a team we have never done that in an event, and when the opportunity came, I knew it would stretch me but we needed this new challenge. Today, 100 is not more of a benchmark because we did over 160+.
3. Insource:
After the images were taken, one major issue we had was most of our editing needs were outsourced. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad thing, but for the brand Ijeworks is building we know roles are insourced for us. This duty alone forced me to get an in-house editor and I am so happy we did that.
4. Don’t forgo excellent service:
After the session, we had over 160+ images to edit and time wasn’t on our side. At one point, we sent in pictures but had to withdraw them because they didn’t come out as expected. We requested more time and eventually delivered excellent work.
5. Build Partnerships and Relationships:
This stretch wouldn’t be possible without @hoaqclub and @foundersconnect_ partnership and I am super happy they trusted us.
That being said, Ijeworks is partnering with brands to deliver exceptional content for storytelling(images and videos). Send an email to office@ijeworks.com. Let’s talk!😁
